Regarding the thermal control switch, vacuum retard and overheating at idle... I have a '70 which does not have the thermal control switch, but does have the dual vacuum (advance/retard) distributor. My car overheats at idle. I thought this was inherent to TRs. Should I ditch the retard and reset the timing to 8 degrees?
