Greetings:
Yesterday we had a "meeting" (standing in sun, drinking coffee,
admiring cars) of the local Jagnuts (all British cars allowed) club.
I'd installed a honkin' new (to me) stereo system in my car and it gave
me an idea. I bought a CD of Rule Brittania and other Brit-hits (Land
of Hope and Glory, British Grenadiers...) and cued it up to where a
large chorus and orchestra belts out "RULE BRITTANIA, BRITTANIA RULE
THE WAVES!!" and hit it at judicious moments. It proved VERY popular
especially when I roared away (don't our cars have a beautiful sound by
themselves??) with it blaring. NOW I'm thinkin' it'll have other uses
so I'll always have it cued up:
* on the rare occasion I "shut down" a Ford Tempo on the line
* at competitive shows
* when some young punk driving a "hot-looking" Chev Cavalier (Geez it's
STILL a Cavalier, kid!) is staring at the car at a light
and many other occasions.
In fact I made myself thoroughly annoying this weekend by sitting in
the garage and repeatedly playing that portion of the CD as I smiled.
I thought it might be an idea that would catch on.
