I put the plastic Hella horns in on my TR6. The plastic didn't bother me as
they sit between the radiator and the grill, and will likely not get damaged
there. They are extraordinarily loud - just what I wanted. My only
complaint is there is a split second delay from when you hit the horn and it
blasts, and it sounds much more like the sound I would expect from an
Italian sports car.

Subject: seeking air horn recommendation
I've been considering the addition of air horns as an alternative to my
stock TR6 horns (to help deflect the
cell-phone-talking-while-driving-HUGE-SUV type of problem...). But I know
nothing about air horns --- are they all the same?
Does anyone have good or bad experiences to share?
Brands to seek or avoid?
Hella air horns are plastic (at least the ones I found online). Is plastic
good?
Suggested location for the air compressor and horns?
TIA,
