I've read many of the answers, but I'll throw my 2 cents in anyway. The
proper tool for any pipe like this is the Flare Nut wrench. They look like
a 8 faced box wrench but have a slot just big to allow the pipe through.
Snap-on makes a set and they are pricey as heck, if memory serves my 8 piece
set was $60.00 in 1975.
