Josh---If "choking" the engine seems to help the sputtering during takeoff, it is a symptom of a lean mix. Do the easy things first, like be sure there's oil in the carb dashpots. If it's OK, do the diaphragm checks. Check that (hot) water goes thru the pipe at the intake manifold, as the engine warms up. Fuel vaporization is necessary for good low speed driveability. Feel the hoses for this heat as it exits this pipe. Dick |
