Well, why did I let every tire dealer from whom I purchased replacements
sell me new tubes when I bought these tires back in the 70's and early
80's? Because it clearly stated "TUBE TYPE" on the sidewall. I know this
not from memory, but because I have a new set of NOS "Made in France"
Michelin redlines in my garage holding up CF37325U. I have another set
of Michelin redlines that don't have "Made in France" on the sidewall
but were on a car I bought in the late 80's that state "TUBE TYPE" on
the sidewall also.
Seems if they didn't require tubes, they would have labeled them
"tubeless".
Do the new, "Made in USA" tires from Coker have "TUBE TYPE" on the
sidewall? Were the tubes unnecessary all along, or are only the newer
tires tubeless?
I'd feel insecure riding on tires labeled as "tube type" without tubes.

I received this response when asking about Michelin Red Lines.
