For those who are interested in purchasing a valve cover!

Frequently asked questions:

Q: How much should I send for shipping?

A: I will bill you for the shipping when you receive your valve
cover. If you are outside of the U.S. send me an e-mail and I will give
you a firm price for shipping, to be included with your payment for the
valve cover.

Q: How much will the shipping be?

A: Within the U.S. it will be no more than $12.00 for Fed-ex Ground.
The average is $7.00-8.00. To New Zealand, the cost of shipping nearly
equals the cost of the product!

Q: Can I use a personal check?

A: When I started shipping rockers, I made a firm rule of: (cashiers
checks and money orders only)! I realize that this is a hassle so I'm
going to let that policy slide and accept personal checks. The first bad
check I get, or stop payment, or any other immature incident that
equates to me not getting paid will make it necessary to return to the
cash only program! My bank will charge "ME" $15.00 for processing "YOUR"
bad check. In addition they will put a hold on future deposits of 7-10
days!

Q: Is this a one time offering?

A: No, This is a one time opportunity to get this project rolling.
After this first run, Valve covers can be cast about three times per
year at this price. On a spur of the moment basis expect to pay about
double.

Example: Your sitting the fence regarding whether or not to order a
valve cover now. I ship this first run, put some photos on the
site...etc., and now you decide you have to have one. You will have to
wait 4-5 months for the next run, or find 25 people willing to pay about
$200.00 ea. to get one. The foundry will be happy to "fit you in", for a
price!

Q: Will the valve cover have an internal baffle?

A: Yes!

Q: Will the extra cooling fins, (versus the current product
offerings from other manufacturers), give me an extra 10HP?

A: NO!

If you missed the previous post and are wondering what all of this is
about; I have included the original post and a link to more info and
renderings.

To the list:

This is the first and possibly final call for the valve covers.

The foundry needs a 35 piece minimum order for this part, based on the
set-up labor and the volume of the poured material. I personally do not
need 35 valve covers, so they will have to be pre-paid with a waiting
period of 4-6weeks.

Thus far I have 17 orders confirmed from off-list.

We need 35 to make an order!

The majority of you have requested a design and finish as follows:

1) Tall cooling ribs, .450-.500"

2) Hardware that will provide a positive seal...i.e. Stainless
acorn nuts, stainless washers, and rubber sealing washers.

3) A proper rubber, (cylinder head to valve cover gasket), and
machined groove for capturing the gasket.

4) A polished billet, (threaded), filler cap with O-ring seal.

5) A flat black crinkle finish with the top surfaces of the ribs
polished.

The final design can be firmed up and posted to my site based on the
desires of those who have purchased. The time frame does not permit a
long drawn out, "individualized", design session.

The foundry is small, and starting next week they will have a break in
their usual production run for about 3 weeks. During this time they pour
decorative items for small order customers like us! They're a really
good bunch, and would prefer to make a few interesting parts, rather
than wait for the next 10K piece contract. I am allowing a few
additional weeks for the machining and packaging.

One week remains for the checks to be in!

As described above the cost will be $110.00 ea. Plus shipping.

If you would like a plain cast cover the cost is $95.00 plus shipping.

Based on the cost of shipping rockers I would estimate that the valve
covers will be about $12.00 for Fed-ex Ground.
