TR250 front Spring removal

List, 

I'm doing a frame off, so I think I need a spring compressor tool to
remove the front springs with the engine being out and the body off. 

I seem to remember seeing plans for making one, but can't remember where
I saw it. Anyone have specs for the bottom plate and know what size
threaded rod I should use? 

I see they have them at TRF, but are $40.00 so I thought I would try
making one. I've already spent a lot at TRF this year :-)
