Thanks to the list for identifying my unknown part as the oil pressure plug for
the dash guage. Between the responses, my catalogs, and a great photo from
Larry Morrison, it was easily identified. I couldn't find the part in my
parts-I-took-off-the-car box, so I looked at the end of the oil pressure guage
tube to find the piece still attachted to the end. During the prep work to
remove the body, I was taking off the rear bumper when fellow triumph club
members were working under the hood. So, in my defense, I didn't remember what
it was because I hadn't taken it off! A technicality, but it made me feel less
absent-minded.
