Subject: | TR6 Rear Oil Seal Question |

On the weekend I installed a new rear oil seal on my TR6 engine. After buttoning everything back together I read my "other" manual that says to use a copper washer on the top bolt "to seal the oil because the bolt protrudes all the way into the inside of the block". My Haynes manual said nothing of the sort. The previous mechanic didn't use a copper washer. Good grief, do I need to open that back up just for a washer? Any advice would be much appreciated.
