Everything I've read and heard about on the subject says that it's not
good for cars (all cars) to be driven short distances each day and shut
off before they warm up.  One result of doing this is that you will go
through exhaust systems rather frequently, because the system never
builds up enough heat to cook off the condensation, so they rust out. 
You'll probably also build up condensation on the inside of the engine,
for the same reasons.  There may be other issues to deal with, but I'm
no expert on this... 

I don't think anyone can say that one particular car can be driven in
this manner without problems, and another one can't.  A TR6 drivetrain
should suffer just as much as your Bimmer's.  That said, if you haven't
noticed any huge problems with your BMW, you should be okay with the
TR6.  And exhaust systems (as well as most other parts) on the TR6 are
probably a lot cheaper than the BMW!
