Crazy or not, John, that's the way I also remove the front springs. So long as there's (engine) weight on the springs, one can use a bottle jack and a piece of 2x4 cut to fit between the spring pan bolts. I guess the liability issues for doing this 'wrong', along with trying to remove these springs with no weight on them, is what prompts the use of advising the spring compressors. Dick |
