Dwayne---The short side of your "sloppy steering" may be best summed up
by standing outside your car and saw the steering wheel back and forth.
Or have someone else do so while you determine where the play is.
Removing the two screws for the inspection "plate" covering the turn
signals will reveal the cam that cancels the turn signals, as the wheel
and shaft is brought back to center. Working while the front wheels are
preferrably straight ahead, turn the wheel to where the canceling cam is
centered between the left and right side turn signal lobes. (You'll see
this clearly when shining a light into this recess) If the spokes of the
steering wheel are not aligned as they should be, you can then remove it
from its splined shaft, (under the horn push) and re-center it.
