I have thought about changing electronic ignition systems. What are the
general feelings about Petronix & Ignitor systems. Are there any preferances
or problems with either system? If any of you running these systems would
like to give me your opinions, I would really appreciate the input.
Thanks

Hello Stuart,
I had the Allison system on my six for a number of years. Every now and then
I would have trouble with the disk that sits on the distributor shaft moving.
This would alter the timing causing resulting backfires. The springs that
hold the disk on the shaft are just not a good design. I eventually switched
to the Ignitor system. I have never had a problem since. Plus, I was
finally able to get rid of that control box and all that unsightly wire! I
hope that this helps.
