Question: What type of fluid is in the dampers? Bentley seems to hide this
info.
Is it hyploid? Kind of smells like it
---------------------------
I've been regularly reading the List for about 2 months now.
After 26 years, I recently gained ownership of the family '76 TR6.
I have slowly been inspecting the rarely driven car stem to stearn.
All of the mail regarding a rear end thunk has kept my interest. I had/have one.
My first look was diagnosed to be a loose exhaust system, fixed it.
The thunk was reduced to an extremely rare single "thunk" turning right
aggressively, didn't hit my high priority list. Suspension components revealed
nothing.
During a recent driveline inspection, a right side axle u-joint was found to be
in
early failure.
I'll pick up the u-joint and brake shoes (while I am in there) today.
While a have the rear end up, what else should I check?
Trailing Arm bushings are good. Hard to believe.
Differential mounts are solid.
Brake lines, ok for now.
Replaced the springs and damper links.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
