Earlier this year I started jacking a whole side at a time (from the
midpoint) out of sheer lazyness. I think it is actually much better than
jacking under the front cross member, which is very easy to dent. The only
reason I'm mentioning this is because I jacked the car up last night to check
out my clunk, and I found that I can still open my doors even when the car is
being supported from the middle. I think it would be pretty hard to HURT the
car....it's only really important to be safe so you don't hurt yourself.
I have also had several TR6's on "professional lifts", and I have never had
any trouble.
