......another related item - be sure to clean the brake pads, new or used,
upon reinstalling as well as the calipers themselves. Any of the auto parts
store type spray stuff should do the job. I just installed new pads and
reused the anti squeal shims which appeared to be in good condition. The
shims were the OEM type that John Uloth describes; half-moon shaped with a
directional arrow. I also squeezed on some of the orange colored goop that
I bought at NAPA that is supposed to quiet squeal. Since the rotors were
also resurfaced this all seemed like a good idea. All this appears to work.
No squeal.
