FWIW, Grassroots Motorsports magazine did an article on this very subject
some time in the past (don't ask, I don't know - it's all a blur to me
right now.
But the operative for the carbon fibre route was that you do the C.F. over
a substrate. For our cars, a hacked up stock dash that is planed smooth
would be just the ticket.
Remember - if you do a project like this, you're going for the look, not
the structural thing.
Besides, to do carbon fibre right, you need temp control and vacuum and
all that stuff.
