A few months ago I experienced vibration through the shifter at highway
speed. I found that the main propshaft u-joints needed replacing. The
front u-joint was pretty chewed up from lack of lubrication.
Crawl under the car and give each u-joint a good shake. (grasp a flange in
each hand and give them a twist) They should feel solid. If you can move
them by hand then chances are they should be replaced.
