Hugh---Getting the TR6 glove box to open with the push of the button is
one of life's greatest accomplishments. (I'm easily satisfied) The 'box
should have an inside light that is controlled by a spring loaded
switch/plunger. This plunger should have enough energy stored so that
pushing the button on the door releases the catch, and quickly releasing
the button will make the door pop open about a half inch. There is
enough adjustment in the latch and its catch to keep you going for a
while. At least it's a job that you can do sitting in a soft seat.
Figure these things worked when the car was new, and go from there.
