Joe---I will attempt to answer at least part of your questions.
The speedo/tach must be added after you install the wood dash, as they
are secured to the metal backing via some clips over the studs. The
holes for both of these 'meters have a recess that won't permit
installation of the dash, last.
The voltage stabilizer bolts onto the speedo's back. I think the cable
for both of these can be attached before installing back in the dash,
but you'll probably have to disconnect them at the other end to have
enough cable length. If it is difficult to squeeze yourself in between
the seat and the dash, consider removing the two bolts that hold the
seat in.
As you know, the new headlight switch and replacement for the narrow
wiper and washer switch are wider than the originals. The metal backing
for the dash must be widened to accept the new style switch(es). I don't
know if the new wood dashes are modified for the new switches, or left
as original.
All rubber gaskets and seals should be available from TRF. They also
make some of the best looking interior parts.
Windscreen frame removal, necessary to replace the dash crashpad, isn't
too difficult, but there are a lot of steps. Hopefully you won't be
dealing with parts that are rusted. Follow the Benley manual for this.
Too much to elaborate on here!
