List,
I'm in the process of restoring the dash on my '71 TR6. I' m looking for
advice on the refinishing of gauge faces. All of my gauges have surface
rust. Does anyone know a resource for getting this done at a reasonable
cost. I don't have a clue what is involved. Is there a source for new
bezels? How do you reseal the gauge in the absence of those nasty rubber
gaskets. Also, when reasembling the dash, can the speedo and tach be
attached to the wood dash prior to affixing to the metal dash? I find it
almost impossible to pretzel myself under that dash event to replace a cable.
Are the replacement wiper switches that are available easy to install? I
know that I have to enlarge the metal dash hole, but how about my new
Roadster Factory wood dash board? Would you believe my clear hooters gauge
still works fine? Any advice on dash instalation, dash pad, and windshield
removal and replacement would be helpful ( are their recommended sources for
windshield rubber? I see that everyone sells them at different prices, is
one source better than another? Sorry for the myriad of questions--I'm
rambling on and on...If anyone has attempted this recently, maybe I could
contact you specifically, rather than bore the entire list.
