Mark,
After waiting endlessly for a TRF backorder, I found John Esposito of
Quantum Mechanics sells an upgraded A Solenoid bracket or can hook you up
with a used one. Great thing is as I recall the upgraded one costs about the
same or less than the ones quoted from other helpful responders. Or you
could use one from a Healey A type OD. The Healey bracket has a reinforced
"box" where the solenoid attaches. The only problem with that solution is
something else had to be changed but I can't remember what it is (operating
shaft lever of something?).
Anyway, I used John's upgraded bracket and was very happy with the product
not to mention the price and his knowledge and service. I'm in no way
affiliated blah, blah, blah.
Also suggest you visit Buckeye's web site and read Nelson's fascinating
articles on A Types.
