Hello fellow TR enthusiasts,
I finally have the details from Herman Vandenakker regarding the conversion.
This is from his "brochure";
Advantages: No Drilling, Cutting, or Welding, Fully Synchronized Toyota
Transmission, Adapts to 4 and 6 cylinder Triumphs.
The Kit includes: new bellhousing, transmission mount, new pilot bushing and
sleeve, and speedometer cable with bracket.
Cost of Kit: $500
Gear ratio of fifth gear is 0.783.
Options: Hydraulic Throw-out Bearing, feeder hose, steel braided hoses -
$215,
Mechanical Throw-out Bearing - $165
To order, contact Herman at (805) 526-9526. The kits will be offered through
some not-yet-named dealers. Stay tuned for more information, or call Herman. I
personally have no financial interest in this project. I merely benefit from
having my car being the prototype. Herman will be displaying the conversion
set up at Triumphest 2001 in Ventura, CA on October 19-21.
