Phil,
I was faced with this dilemma two summers ago. I drove the car in high
school and still wouldn't take it over 30 minutes away from home.
When it was time to fix the car back up, I was living an hour from my
parents house. I had no choice but to just drive it, since then I have
driven it on about 7 or so trips that lasted more than an hour.
As a result I feel so much better about my car and it's trust worthiness.
In fact I will be driving it on a 100 mile trip Sunday to the Cincinnati
British car show. Will you be around then? You should come by.
I say go for it.

Subject: Driving from Chicago to Cincinnatti
Folks,
I'm heading from Chicago to Cincinnati and back this weekend and
thinking of
driving the TR6. Wondering if there are any people along the way I
can call
on if I break down along the way. I'm planning on coming down I-65
to
Indianapolis, Indy to Dayton (I have a stop to make there) and
Dayton to
Cinci. Just trying to line up any support I can get in case the car
breaks
down.
I've never driven this car on a trip longer than an hour. Its all
checked
out, both professionally as well as by myself so there's nothing I
know of
that's wrong with the car. Am I insane to even be considering
driving this
car such a distance when its unproven beyond 30-60 minute drives in
my local
area?
