Has anyone incorporated a Knock / Detonation sensor into their motor,
particularly their TR6 motor?
On the TR6 motor, the coolant drainplug on the right hand side of the block
(side with the intake and exhaust manifolds) looks like an ideal place to
install such a sensor... obviously deleting the bolt that is used for the
plug to replace it with the knock sensor.
Now how would one go about incorporating the knock sensor into the ignition,
to retard the timing until detonation ceases... or would a simple dash light
be enough, and than careful (manual) tuning until detonation is not an issue
anymore?
Again, something that should be noted now, this is not a stock motor... or a
motor with common performance modifications. I'm going all out with the
motor, to obtain maximum reliability and efficiency with the supercharger.
Thanks,
Kai
