Jim---Put a timing light on each plug wire in turn, and rev the engine till it 'stumbles'. If the timing light "misfires" from ANY of the plug wires, you can at least eliminate anything at the valves and carbs. A bad spark plug or wire will also show up with this test. I'd be more inclined to suspect the Pertronic ignition, as you haven't run the engine since installing it. You might want to put the points back in long enough to find out. Dick T. L.A. |
