Hi Kevin, Although both the exhaust system(mufflers) and the headers are designed to help reduce back pressure & extract exhaust, the combination of both would improve performance. If it's a cool sound your looking for do the mufflers. Although I am an advocate of performance mod's, headers will add noise at the engine. That's fine with me but you have to decide what you want.
