Hello Listers,
I am getting my TR6 all squeeky clean for the VTR Southeast Regional
this October in Florida. Took it out for a test drive and noticed brake
fluid all over the pressure differential unit in the brake line. I found
out the fluid was leaking through the warning switch that sends a signal
back to my dash if the pressure is too low. It lights up the BRAKE light
on the dash. Two questions, my switch was a plastic unit, was that the
way they came from the factory? or were they metal? Second question, I
was in need of a quick fix so I put in (gently) a correct threaded bolt
with washer and did not tighten down too much. The depth of the bolt
matched the depth of the thread on the switch. Since the wire adapter
that clips onto the
switch was broken a long time ago, do I really need the correct switch
in the PDWA? or is it ok to have the bolt instead. It doesn't appear to
be leaking.
