Rich-There are several ways to stem the fuel flow. Wait until the tank is almost empty before disconnecting the fuel line, quickly plug the line after disconnecting, park the car on a steep incline before disconnecting, or you might consider installing a shut off valve-this also serves as a theft deterrent.
