Falcon
Falcon was Peter Pellandine's new
company after Ashley. From the early '50s they
offered the Caribbean (pictured). This happened to be their most successful
model, being sold about 2000.
It was a pretty two-seater for Ford 10 mechanicals, available in open
and closed forms. Falcon enlisted the services of Len Terry (of Terrier),
who designed the spaceframe chassis which often sat under Caribbean shells,
later with independent front suspension. Optionally, other engines, including
Coventry-Climax and MGA, could be fitted. In 1961 came the uglier four-seater
coupé version of the Caribbean, the Bermuda.
A nice Falcon story was featured in the February, 1998 issue of
Classic & Sportscar
