Unfortunately for me I didn't take notice of where the black with blue tracer wire connects to the relay. And, It is not shown in the wire diagrams where it connect to the relay. I believe it gives power to the seat belt buzzer. Anybody with a 76 who can check. Its not on any other year. Normally, the switch on the right allows the overdrive to work in 3rd and 4th. The front-left switch allows it to work in 2nd. The rear-left one is for backup lights. There were also some that had a seatbelt lockout, but I think that was only one year. I run a stainless six-into-one header with the single pipe back to a non-stock muffler (I got from Summit) running in-line with the exhaust, rather than transverse like the stock muffler. As we all know, the boys in Coventry installed a wondrous electrical device in our Sixes known as the seat belt interlock module. When I replaced my old seatbelts with the newer version, the seat belt sensor and seat sensors were eliminated, as the new belts had no such provision. I have had no problem with this arrangement until a few days ago when the seat belt module (Green Catalog page 335/item TKC734) started to emit a sickly whining signal. We've checked out the driver side door switches, the neutral safety switch, and the ignition relay. I believe the problem is with the seat belt interlock module itself (a Smiths product). Should I eliminate this module altogether, wiring the starter relay so that the car will start without the module? Has anyone ever attempted to repair this module (a riveted assembly, with 1970's electronics packed within)? Anyone else dealt with this problem? Right now, I can't start my car without the module and can't handle the noise *with *the module! Appreciate any insights.... Identify the white with red wire, and the white with orange wire. Cut them, then connect them to each other. This eliminates the module from the circuitry of the car. Since I did this, no more issues.
