I watched a very well-known driver "run out of gas" after winning a TransAm
race at Michigan.  Two crewmen quickly brought a gas can and put enough gas
in his tank to get him to tech.  I later learned he didn't need the gas as
much as he needed the over 200 pounds of lead shot that was added to his
tank with the gas.
