Congratulations, and welcome aboard!! I don't race with VARA so I can't
advise you there. Friends who do race with them seem to like the club. I
race with CSRG in Northern Calif and HSR-West in Southern Calif. Pull up the
HSR-West website and send an email to Ed Swart. He can explain their
licensing requirements. Personally, I like HSR. They are a great,
competitive club, but still oriented to the vintage concept. They are less
expensive than CSRG and I get more track time.
Most of all, never lose sight of the fact that last place on the grid is
still more fun than pole position in the grandstands!!
