Front hubs have broken on tractor TRs. I own one of said broken hubs, and the
body damage that went with it. There is a mod that strengthens them
considerably
and we havent broken one since.

I'm also glad to hear Jack say that SVRA would be ok with alloy hubs since it is
another approach to the problem. And as one of the other listers mentioned, not
likely to be a performance advantage that is measurable as long as the brake
disk
is still the big anchor we have all come to know and love. I seriously doubt
any
of us could boil out the grease of the front bearing just because of the
addition
of the alloy hub. I've never so much as faded a front brake, even with modern
quality pads. Our big failure on the front end now is the bearing itself, not
big enough to take the loads that modern tires can put on them. They're only
good for a few events at best. And eventually we wollow out the area of the hub
trying to hold the outside races!
