1955 Mercedes withdraws from Lemans as a result of parts from Pierre

1999 Mercedes withdraws from Lemans as a result of cars flying of the
 track.

I figured this out while reading a Stirling Moss interview in "Vintage
Racecar Journal" late last night on 9-9-99 . . . Anyone ever notice or
have any of you ever heard anyone mention this?
