My Tormont Webster's Illustrated Dictionary offers as one of the definitions of Corinthian: "A wealthy amateur sportsman, especially a yachtsman." This definition ought to be amended to read "An amateur sportsman, especially one willing to spend beyond his means to pursue vintage motorsports racing or yachting." Tom Butters |
