I tried numerous techniques for removing the sound deadening material from the entire inside of my ITA Mazda..... the thing that finally worked was a cheap air chisel with a flat blade.. cold material chips better then hot so if you have cold weather then leave it outside for a day or so. but becareful of the blade slipping and going through the metal.....
