The best way to determine what temps you want to see on your gauges is
to run
it on a dyno and see what temps match up to peak HP. As a rough guideline
though, optimum temperatures are usually in the 1300-1400 range. Closer to
1300 to be on the safe side because any higher than 1400 and you begin to risk
burning a piston.
