fire extinguishers

I need help sorting out fire extinguishers. I see some with halon 1211
&1301, some with AAAF foam, and some with CEA-614. They range in size with 2
1/2 , 5, 7, & 10 pounds.
The rules have a footnote about halon possibly being outlawed in the US &
Canada. There is also a reference to a minimum rating of 10 BC.
What is the appropriate type for a new purchase and how do the sizes relate
to the BC rating?
