lotus seven history

dear list,

        I own '63 Lotus Seven Chassis no. SB1649, frame no. B1435.  It was
sold new at Bob Challman's Ecurie Shirlee.  I have been able to trace its
ownership history back to a fellow named M. A. Evans in the San Diego area
around 1972.  I am curious as to its prior history specifically if it was
raced and by whom.  
        If Anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated.
