Don, I put a small, one-wire alternator in my vintage racing TR3 a couple of seasons ago, and have been very pleased. Unit is made by East Coast Auto Electric and I sourced through Jeg's in Columbus, OH. Part number 358-2020, $139.99. Easy to mount, and only one wire to the battery.
