re: piston to head clearance

The motorcycle guy might have been talking about 2 stroke engines. In
some of those heads they use a squish band that *does* have to be very tight
in order to get the high speed turbulent flow at combustion time.

On these engines there are no valves to float and the point of closest
approach is TDC.
