Team Thicko's video efforts are beginning to pay off. Some of you know,
I've been involved in sales of high end digital non-linear editing gear
for audio and video for a number of years. This type of product is used
on major motion pictures, episodic tv, commercials, and albums. I've had
this equipment available to me for a number of years, and used it to
chronicle the efforts of Team Thicko and it's friends for a number of
years. I was asked, and am now producing a commercial video of the
recent Blackhawk Classic, with a slant towards the Volvo Grand Prix, as
the video will be sold thru aftermarket parts sources.
What's really cool is I've been asked by ESPN 2's RPM 2night to report
on the Chicago Historic Races at Elkhart Lake on July 19, 20, & 21. It's
a great opportunity to promote our sport to the teaming masses.
Interviews of Sir Jack Brabbham and Carroll Shelby are planned, along
with a lot of Can Am footage. Tough job, huh? I'll keep everyone posted
on when the footage might air.
Of course, the usual Team Thicko welcome is out to any and all who wish
to stop by the pits to say hi. If we're not in when you stop by, please
leave a note in the Healey mailbox in front of the motorhome. Hopefully,
I'll have my recent overheating problems on the Sprite worked out....
