As part of a discussion I'm having with a TR friend in Europe, we're
thinking about what we know regarding radiator overflow bottles and
sidescreen cars.

My understanding is that they were never fitted from the factory, but they
might have been fitted by dealers and/or early owners to keep coolant from
puking from the overflow hose.

Certainly my TR3B had an ooold radiator overflow bottle fitted to it when I
got the car in 1981. It seems to be the contemporary TR4 bottle on my car.

Here's that original bottle alongside the car's original windscreen washer
bottle.

Anyone have any thoughts here?
