The only time I used a FACET fuel pump it failed on me after about 13,000
miles in the middle of a major junction in Vancouver in the rush hour! I
think this was because it wanted to operate at around 8psi when the carbs
only needed 2 to 3 psi and therefore a restrictor had to be put in the
delivery line.

I wasn't aware Lucas made a fuel pump - apart from the ones for the fuel
injected cars - and those run at 150psi which is way too high.

Personally, I'd always go for the original SU type of pump now made by
Burlein Fuel Systems and mount it as others have stated close to the tank.
Ensure its blowing and not sucking. It's a solid state unit so *should* la=
st
a long time and it pushes at the correct 2-3psi pressure. The fitment of a=
n
inertia switch should be an absolute imperative. Not only is it an importa=
nt
safety feature but an excellent anti-theft device.

My two pence worth

Jonmac
