Hi Dave:
I do commercial powder coating. Although I own a pro powder gun system.
I do have several HF hobby guns that I still use for small jobs (or used too
until I tried the Eastwood gun). They both work pretty well. It's biggest
limitation is on second coats.
Because a hobby gun does not have adjustable voltage a second coat is
somewhat difficult. This limitation can be over come by shooting the second
coat when your item is warm (the heat helps it attract the powder).
The Harbor Freight gun has a top mounting powder cup. I don't care for
it. Although the HF gun works pretty well. IMO the East Wood hobby gun it a
better hobby gun. I HIGHLY recommend the Eastwood hobby gun.. They cost pretty
close to the same money. The EW gun has a bottom loading powder cup. IMO it's
a better working gun. The Eastwood gun also provides better powder
attraction = less powder waste.
Also Eastwood's customer service is second to none! They will ship it to
you faster & stand behind it 110%.
HF customer service is really bad IMO.

Has anybody had any experience with the Harbor Freight Powder Coating Gun? I
am considering getting one and was wondering how well it works. There are a
couple of similar units on Ebay but they all look like they were made in the
same plant in China so this might be a useless question..
