An "Interference" engine is when the piston & valve can come in contact . This can occur when the crank & valve go out of sync either during a mechanical failure or over reving. That's one of the reasons that many engines with timing belts recommend replacement at regular intervals to avoid engine damage. -- Mitch Seff Oceanside N.Y. 75 TR6SC http://www.triumphowners.com/384 === This list supported in part by The Vintage Triumph Register === http://www.vtr.org === unsubscribe/change address requests to majordomo@autox.team.net |
