I recently installed a repro overdrive switch in my TR3A and found that
it worked in reverse of the original. Reversing the wires at the bullet
connections didn't help either. Originally, the overdrive engaged when the
switch was thrown up but the repro worked when the switch was thrown down. I
guess the English switches work backwards from the American system. Anyway, I
opened up the switch and there was a hot lead and two different other screw
terminals of which the lower one was wired and the top was open. I reversed
these leads and now the switch works as the original did. The changeover took
about 10 minutes including removing the switch.
