BTW I fitted a 5/16 UNF bolt to my TR6 (CC series engine) quite nicely.  I 
don't know where the 3/8 reference came from but perhaps the CF engines were 
differrent.  Or the TRactor motors used 3/8 and that passage just carried over 
into the TR6 manual.

Idle minds worry about the most trivial things.
